Refund Policy

This Refund Policy explains when and how refunds are issued for payments made to Satogram, operated by Satogram LLC. It is part of our Terms of Service.
The key principle
Satograms are paid out as Bitcoin over the Lightning Network. Once sats have been sent to recipients, those payments are final and cannot be reversed or refunded. Refunds are therefore only possible for amounts that have not yet been sent.
Card payments
When you pay by card, we first place an authorization (a temporary hold) on your card. Your card is only charged once your campaign is approved in moderation.
- Rejected in moderation. Every card-funded campaign is reviewed before it is sent. If we reject your campaign, we release the hold and your card is never charged: there is nothing to refund and no fees are kept. Depending on your bank, the released hold can take a few business days to drop off your statement.
- Expired price quote. Card budgets lock a Bitcoin/USD rate for a limited window (about ten minutes). If your payment is confirmed after that window, we release the hold rather than send at a stale rate; you can start a new checkout to try again.
- Before sending. If you need to cancel a card campaign that has been approved (charged) but not yet sent, contact us as soon as possible and we will refund the portion that has not been sent, less non-refundable payment-processing fees (see below).
- Card refunds are returned to the original payment method. Processing time depends on your bank or card issuer and is typically several business days.
Lightning payments
- Overpayment. If your payment exceeds the actual cost to deliver your campaign (for example, because Lightning network fees came in lower than budgeted), you may request a refund of the unused or overpaid amount by contacting us. Example: you fund 65,000 sats and actual delivery costs 55,000 sats; you may request a refund of the difference.
- Before sending. If a paid Lightning campaign has not yet been sent, contact us and we will refund the portion that has not been sent.
Service fee
Our service fee (currently 10%) covers operating and delivering your campaign. Where a campaign is rejected in moderation or is not sent, any fee taken on the unsent portion is included in the refund. Once a campaign has been delivered, the service fee for delivered Satograms is non-refundable.
What is not refundable
- Sats already delivered to recipients (irreversible on the Lightning Network).
- Third-party payment-processing fees on card payments that have been charged (captured). The processor does not return these fees to us, so refunds of a charged card payment are issued for the amount paid less those fees. Holds released before capture (for example, a campaign rejected in moderation) incur no fees at all.
How to request a refund
Email us at satograms@gmail.com with your payment request or receipt details and a brief description. We aim to respond promptly.
Chargebacks
If you have a problem with a charge, please contact us first; we can usually resolve it faster than a bank dispute. Filing a chargeback for a campaign that was delivered as described may result in suspension from the Service.
