Privacy Policy#

This Privacy Policy explains how Satogram, operated by Satogram LLC (“we”, “us”, “our”), collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Service. By using the Service you agree to this Policy.

Information we collect#

From Advertisers (campaign creators):

Your campaign message and any destination URL you provide.
An optional contact (for example an email address or social handle) that you choose to give us.
Payment information. Card payments are processed by Stripe; we do not receive or store your full card number. We retain limited payment metadata (such as a payment or charge identifier, amount, and status) to operate the Service and reconcile payments. Lightning payments are recorded by their payment request and status.

From Readers (recipients):

The Lightning address or node public key you submit to join the recipient list, and a record of the IP address used to sign up (used to enforce per-IP signup limits and prevent abuse).

Automatically:

IP address and basic request information, used for security, abuse prevention, rate limiting, and operating the Service.
For tracked links, we record aggregate click counts. Where we associate a click with an IP, we hash the IP before storage; we report totals only and do not report which individual clicked.

Third-party tools on our pages:

We use Google reCAPTCHA to protect signups from automated abuse. Google may collect device and usage information subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.

How we use information#

To operate the Service: create and deliver campaigns, process payments, and send Satograms.
To moderate campaign content before delivery.
To prevent fraud and abuse, enforce limits, and secure the Service.
To provide aggregate analytics (for example, total clicks) to Advertisers.
To communicate with you about your campaign or request, where you have given us a contact.
To comply with legal obligations.

Recipients and wallet providers. To deliver a Satogram, the sats and the attached message are transmitted over the Lightning Network to the recipient’s wallet or provider. Your message content is, by design, delivered to recipients.
Service providers. We share information with providers that help us operate, including Stripe (payment processing) and Google reCAPTCHA (anti-abuse). We use a third-party price source for Bitcoin/USD rates that does not receive your personal information.
Legal. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, our users, or the public.
We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention#

We retain information for as long as needed to operate the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse. Recipients may request removal at any time (see below).

Your choices and rights#

Recipients may request removal from the list at any time by contacting us; we will promptly remove your address.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing (for example, under the GDPR or the CCPA). To exercise these rights, contact us.
reCAPTCHA and any other third-party tools are subject to their own privacy terms.

Security#

We take reasonable measures to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Card data is handled by Stripe under its PCI-compliant systems; we never see your full card number.

Children#

The Service is not directed to children and is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International users#

We may process information in countries other than where you live. By using the Service you consent to such processing.

Changes#

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes are reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
